Tinsel Town

I have been so busy lately.. Work, Christmas shopping, laundry, you name it.. So instead of more holiday nail art, which I wish I had to show you, today's post is just a boring swatch :(

This is 2 coats of China Glaze Tinsel Town, with one coat of SV. I was taken completely by surprise with this shade!! I wasn't a huge fan of it in the bottle, or with the swatches I had on my nail wheel, but as soon as it had dried on my nails I fell in love! I will definitely wear this shade again, probably with some stamping next time. What are your thoughts on this polish?

In direct sunlight, look at that shine!

I also included a picture for any of you out there who enjoy baking, or just eating awesome stuff! My boss hired me to make cake balls for her birthday, these are strawberry with cream cheese and double chocolate, both dipped in white chocolate. I didn't end up trying them but she says I need to open up my own shop, so I think they were good :)

  2. Of course Marta! It's very easy and cheap to make, just a little time-consuming.

    You will need:
-One box of cake mix (I used Betty Crocker Stawberry and Chocolate mixes)
-Ingredients used for cake on box
-One can of frosting (I used cream cheese and milk chocolate frostings)
-One package of candy coating (I used White chocolate almond bark)

You bake the cake in a 9X13 pan. Let cool completely. Then using your hands, crumble the cake into very fine pieces into a large bowl. Once it's all crumbled, mix in about 3/4 of your can of frosting, until mixed well. Then you will form the balls, I use a small ice cream scoop so I can get the same size every time. Your hand will get sticky so you want to wash and dry them completely a few times during this process. You will lay all the balls out on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet. Then cover in saran wrap and place in the freezer for about 15 min- they should be firm but not frozen. Then melt your candy coating as directed on the package into a microwave safe bowl. One at a time, place a cake ball into the coating, use a spoon to cover all of it in coating, then scoop it out with the spoon, banging it on the side of the bowl to get some of the excess off. Then place your cake balls back on the wax paper until dry. I also fill a plastic baggy with leftover coating, cut a hole in the tip, and decorate the tops of them.
    Hope this helps!

    Bake the cake as directed
